Painted Vases

I saw this super-awesome, super-gorgeous gold polka dot vase that Cassie from Hi Sugarplum! made awhile back and I LOVED it (I LOVE everything she makes, but this was obviously one of my faves) and I wanted to try it out and just a few hours of drying time later, I had this...

I love her square/rectangular version, but I already had some of these round ones at home because these are the kind of vases that come with flowers my parents send. I just followed Cassie's tutorial so I'm not walking you through anything here, but I also used the Martha paint and it's worked out well so far (though the plant does tend to stay indoors, except for photo shoots)! : )

I was loving the colorblock trend and so I decided to use some spray paint I also had on hand to paint this one. I just used some painter's tape to cover most of the vase and applied a couple of coats of spray paint and voila! Overall, this was a free project because I already owned everything so I'm pretty pleased with the end results...

I'll be sharing this post at some of my favorite parties...

Crafty Clocks Roundup

My whole work group/department recently moved office locations... the change has been interesting. Some good, some bad... the upside for me is that I have some new walls to decorate. I just had some personal photos at the old office (and then file cabinets covering pretty much all the walls). One of things I want for my new walls is a clock... and I can't just go with the cheap-o Ikea one so I decided to look for some crafty inspiration.

I thought you all might like to see them so I made a little round up of clock redos and makeovers to help me contemplate the options...
